Everyone has a unique head shape, so just because a pair of goggles should fit based on the age group, it doesn’t necessarily mean they will.  The best way to check if the goggles fit completely is to use them underwater and see if any water gets in.  However, that can be rather tricky when you’re just holding them in your hands in the shop.  The next best way to check if they fit your child is simply to try them on without putting the strap behind the head.  Just place the goggles up to the eyes and press them gently into place with a light push. If they stay on by themselves when you let go, the goggles fit properly and are a perfect match. That is, of course, assuming the strap isn’t used during the test. --- ## How to extend the lifespan of swimming goggles Now that you’re investing in a pair of swimming goggles for your child, you’ll naturally want them to last as long as possible. And while kids’ swimming goggles are generally durable, there are a few things you can do yourself to extend their lifespan.  In fact, these are two simple tricks I use myself.  ### Store the swimming goggles in a case I use a case myself to store my swimming goggles when I’m not using them. Roughly after every 10th swim, to be more precise.  I give my goggles two sprays on the inside of each lens, after which I swirl the goggles around in a circular motion. Afterwards, I rinse with water without touching the lenses with my fingers.  That’s actually enough to keep the goggles from fogging up, which makes swimming far more comfortable. Because let’s be honest, foggy goggles are extremely annoying!
